Our Values

● Membership is the lifeblood of our Rotary Club.
● The principles of the Four-Way Test (above) provide Rotarians with a strong common purpose and serve as
a foundation for our relationships with each other, our community and around the world.
● We are committed to high ethical standards and recognize the worthiness of all useful occupations and the dignifying of each Rotarian's occupation as an opportunity to serve society.
● We apply the ideal of "service" in all that we do locally and internationally and support the advancement of international understanding, goodwill and peace through world fellowship.
● Rotary is an international organization with 1.2 million members and 45,000 clubs.
● For more than 110 years, Rotary's people of action have used their passion, energy and intelligence to take action on sustainable projects including: world literacy and peace, to water and health, always working to better our world.
● We have a shared responsibility to take action on our world's most persistent issues to:
Promote peace; fight disease; provide clean water, sanitation and hygiene; save mothers and children; support education; grow local economies and protect the environment.
● Together we see a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change.
● Rotary is made up of three parts: our Club, Rotary International and The Rotary Foundation.
● Rotary International supports Rotary Clubs worldwide by coordinating global programs.
● The Rotary Foundation helps fund our humanitarian activities, from local service projects to global initiatives.
Locally
● At the local level, we challenge ourselves to be a vibrant club. Do we engage our members? Do we conduct meaningful projects in the community? And support international projects?
● Every member should feel empowered to shape our club's future and make it outstanding.
● St. Louis Park Rotary Foundation is funded by club members and supports local projects including youth, education, community at large, and Rotary projects, in harmony with other clubs. 5% of the foundation's assets are allocated annually to community projects.
● Each member is asked to assist the club in membership development and supporting our two foundations: SLP Rotary Foundation and Rotary International.
● Other opportunities to serve include community service, vocational service, international service, club service, fundraising efforts and leadership development.
● New members are invited to give a "vocational talk" shortly after becoming a new member.
● New members are invited to take part in social gatherings and take part on committees.
● Being a Rotarian provides new members with the opportunities to develop leadership skills, make new friendships, get involved with the community and the potential to make new friends around the world.
● St. Louis Park Rotarians take pride in our service to the community and giving back to others. We are proud of our rich history.
● Equally important, SLP Rotarians place a premium on having FUN in everything we do.
● Our club has members who are happy to "mentor" you as you get acclimated to Rotary.
● As you think about what your "legacy" will be, our club provides a wonderful opportunity for you to explore many pathways which we know you will find very rewarding.
